‘The FPM market is growing because more finance professionals see these solutions as a way to address their top challenges in planning, compliance, and management reporting. This growth is largely due to the fact that finance pros can no longer rely solely on Excel for planning, reporting, or more sophisticated forecasting and analysis.’ - The Forrester Wave™: Financial Performance Management, Q3 2013
Many Finance departments short-change their enterprise performance management activities because they’re wasting time on manual tasks, such as collecting, validating and correcting data, to spend adequate time on the more important task of analysis. They rely on systems — ranging from spreadsheets to ERP solutions — that are disconnected, outdated, static, insecure, completely dependent upon IT, and lacking the performance and data reliability essential for today’s analytics.
IBM Cognos Performance Management provides a dynamic, collaborative solution to meet all of your enterprise planning and analytics needs. It offers visibility to plans and forecasts, rapid what-if scenario modelling, and profitability analysis. And, when paired with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence, it addresses a breadth of reporting and scorecarding needs. Capabilities include:
Planning, budgeting and forecasting: Automate budgeting and perform driver-based forecasting, “what-if” scenario modelling and multi-dimensional financial analysis.
Profitability modelling and analysis: Evaluate the profitability of products, customers and sales channels with “what-if” modelling and multi-dimensional profitability analysis.
Financial close, regulatory and management reporting: Streamline the assembly of management reporting, performance reporting and reporting for regulatory compliance. Automate the consolidation process for a faster financial close.
Performance reporting and scorecarding: Align strategy with execution, communicate goals and monitor your performance against targets.
